Days Out from Secinaro for 18-30’s GROUP
Try a few of our suggestions listed below:
Swimming
The Outdoor Pool in Corfinio is great for Families & 18-30’s for a morning/afternoon. It is
well run and clean with good music (mix of Italian/English). Now with Kamakasi Slide
for the BRAVE! Normally open in July/August
Note: You will need to wear a Bathing Cap in the pool - male or female (if you don’t have one
you can buy one from the office otherwise you won’t be allowed in the pool)
Canoeing & Kayaks
Beautiful river at the other side of Popoli, with Indian Style Canoes so you don’t even
need to get wet (but you probably will!). Some don’t mind the water at 10 degrees all year
round but it was too cold for me! Fantastic couple of hours with 2 per Canoe plus an English
speaking guide. Good organisation and safety - life jackets & waterproof bag
provided by Il Bosso.
Boat Hire and Bicycles at Lago Di Scanno
You can hire Boats & Bicycles (Including 2 and 4 Seaters) at
Lago Di Scanno. You might even enjoy the ride in the car to get
there on the narrow roads with hidden bends - unless you are
the driver of course! You can easily lap round the lake and it has
plenty of perfect picnic spots.
If you are staying in Secinaro, then enjoy the mixed entertainment in the Piazza, especially during the August Ferrogosta
or gravitate towards the “La Dolce Vita” Bar/Restaurante down the hill a bit at the side of the Piazza. You can enjoy good
music and large screen TV (especially if there is a football game on) as well as good simple bar food of course.
Go-Karting
There is Go-Karting at Sulmona (Our Favourite) www.kartodromoholykart.it
There is also one before you get to L'Aquila and also one at Pescara
Water Park(s)
There are a couple within reasonable driving distance - “Onda Blu”, up the coast
from Pescara is excellent and there is another one down near Vasto.
Note: You will need to wear a Bathing Cap in the water - male or female (if you don’t have
one you can buy one from the office otherwise you won’t be allowed in the pool)
10-Pin Bowling
To be tried - quite nearby just through Riano and off to the right at the large roundabout …. if it is still open?
Or try the one in Pescara
Music
Check out Local festivities especially in August - Castel Di Ierie Rock Festival is always fantastic (tried and tested)
Concerts at Rocca Di Mezzo and Sulmona in August - check them out at the Tourist Information Centre
If you need Strings/Equipment, try FG Music in Sulmona www.fgmusic.it
If you like lively background music, try the “La Dolce Vita” Bar in Secinaro or the Outdoor Pool at Corfinio (July/August)
Aielli (Colourful village near to Celano)
A short trip to the most picturesque village in abruzzo is well worth ia visit. Have fun ticking off the Murals on your map
which, if it is open, you can pick up at the kiosk before you wander around.
Check if the Tower is open and, for a small charge, get the
lowdown on Astronomy then get to look at the sun through
the telescope on the roof terrace.
